Self-Paced Course Design Workshop

We are pleased to announce that the Center for Academic Innovation (formerly CTEL) will be offering an asynchronous, self-paced course design workshop this semester. This workshop is intended to help you develop or redesign an upcoming Brightspace course. Please see the information below about the workshop including the structure and expectations for completion. We will be accepting the first 10 applicants and providing remuneration in the amount of $750 dollars. If you are selected to participate we will be in touch with you regarding signing an memorandum of understanding (MOU).

Self-Paced Course Design Workshop: Fall ’24

The workshop is presented in a sequence of 6 modules that you can use to develop your Brightspace course from start to finish. Each module represents one of the six weeks of the workshop. It is not necessary to complete each module to complete the workshop. Aside from the first week introduction and the final week deliverables there is no set order you need to follow.

The first week will begin, Monday September 30th (8am EST) and the final deliverables are due Friday November 8th (5pm EST).

Each week, on Monday (8 am EST), you will receive an email with reminders for that weeks’ topic, objectives, resources, and feedback opportunities. Each email will also include a link to the weekly module, opportunity for feedback, and a discussion topic.

To successfully complete the workshop there are 4 requirements:

• A short self-introduction with at least one reply to another participant’s introduction.
• A final, course ready, reviewed syllabus for the course you will be developing.
• A final, course ready, reviewed course map for the course you will be developing.
• A Brightspace course with the syllabus added and at least one finalized module with appropriate assessments, activities, and resources included.
