Hello everyone! This is just a quick post to let you know that D2L is making the new Edit Assignment page in Brightspace the default starting December 10th, 2021. Previously, you had the option to switch between the new interface and the original. This will no longer be an option after the 10th. We have updated the Brightspace Guide with new text and instructions on navigating the new page. The tutorial videos in the Self-Paced Brightspace Training will also be updated in the coming weeks.
I’m personally excited about this change. The new screen requires much less scrolling, puts all the most important settings at the top, and moves all the settings from the tabs to a set of collapsible panels along the right side of the screen, so everything is accessible from the same page. Best of all, the new Edit Assignment page will create Grade Items in the Grades tool automatically for new assignments!
